YASH is a comprehensive sex education program that is made to be culturally sensitive with respect to the local culture. YASH’s main aim is to improve sexual and reproductive health among vulnerable adolescents. YASH has been divided into three subsections which are:
- YASH School: teaches sex education in local schools and organizes workshops for teachers to empower them to promote sex education in schools on a continuous basis.
- YASH Community: empower institutions involved in sexual health promotion to increase sexual health in the community
- YASH Afternoon: Offers art based sexual education for the most vulnerable children in the community.
All the subsections aim to achieve the same goal of increasing adolescent sexual health in Ghana’s capital slum areas. YASH’s target group is adolescents between the ages of 11-15 who live in slum areas of Accra.
