Meet Issa Lawal, a young, ambitious and talented Design Innovation student at the Design & Technology Institute, whose story is a true testament to the transformative power of education. Issa is a beneficiary of the Street Children Empowerment Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting disadvantaged youth in tertiary institutions or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Despite facing numerous challenges and setbacks, Issa has consistently exceeded expectations and demonstrated a high level of creativity, innovation, and attention to detail. His instructors describe him as a true standout in his class and have no doubt that Issa is one of the best students in CadCam.
Recently, Issa designed a 3D printed monster mask that will be used in a play to show different facial expressions and mimic different scenarios when a spectrum of light is passed through it. This project showcases his unique talents and passion for using technology to solve real-world problems.
In addition to his passion for design, Issa is also committed to making a positive impact on the environment. He is currently working on recycling plastic waste to make polyformers into filaments for 3D printers. This innovative project is a reflection of Issa’s determination to use his skills to create positive change in the world.
Despite his impressive achievements, Issa still faces numerous challenges that threaten to derail his dreams. He is in need of a laptop and computer-aided software to help him perform exceptionally in his courses, particularly in Web development, Programming, and Robotics.
