More on Our Coronavirus Response Project

The COVID- 19 pandemic affects all manner of persons including children, teens and adults. In Ghana we have so far recorded over 5000 cases of COVID-19. Report from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) identifies Greater Accra Region with highest confirmed cases. The youngest person to have died from the novel coronavirus in Ghana was a nine-year-old boy.

As a non-governmental organization working closely with children in street situations in  Accra Central specifically James Town, we are working with our partners SendaSmile e.V and Rotary Club of Accra-Airport to help control the spread of the pandemic. We have extended our coronavirus response project dubbed Wash Coronavirus Away to Accra Central.

Rotary Club of Accra-Airpot joined us on a three-day education and distribution of 50 Veronica Buckets with washing soaps at  James Town, Agbogbloshie, Scrapfield, Kantamanto, Timber Market, Art Centre, Kantamanto all in Accra Central.

Together with our coronavirus education in English, Twi and Ga,  we distributed fifteen (15) veronica buckets with washing soaps at Agbobloshie market and the scrap field, ten (10) at James Town, eleven (11) at Kantamanto, five (5) at Timber Market, five (5) at Art Center and four (4) at office of the Accra Sub Metro and its environs.

We are hoping to continue our coronavirus education and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s) at other areas in Accra Central with more support from other organizations and individuals.
