Our Events

SCEF makes a positive impact on the lives of street-connected children through our annual programs and projects.

Reading is Fun

The Reading is Fun vacation program takes place in August each year and aims to help children who are in street situations to enhance their reading skills and develop the habit of reading.

The program combines reading exercises with games and crafting to stimulate children’s creativity while making learning fun.

Reading is Fun is divided into three sessions each day, which are phonics, play, and craft lab. By integrating these activities, children can easily remember different letters and sounds while having fun. The program provides breakfast and snacks every day to ensure that all children attending can focus on learning.

Additionally, the program offers volunteers, interns, and staff the opportunity to build a good relationship with the beneficiaries and be part of their learning process. In summary, Reading is Fun is a holistic program that promotes reading and learning through creative and fun activities while also providing a supportive environment for children in street situations.

Back to school

Back to School – Supplies for Dreams is an annual event that is held in September, and its primary goal is to provide assistance to street-connected children in terms of school supplies.

The Back to School – Supplies for Dreams event is specifically designed to prepare scholarship recipients for the new academic year. The scholarship recipients are provided with backpacks that are filled with essential school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks, rulers, erasers, and other necessary items.

The event is essential because most children living on the streets cannot afford to attend school due to financial constraints. Even those who attend school are unable to purchase new school supplies for each term, which can make learning difficult or even impossible. As a result, the event plays a crucial role in ensuring that street-connected children have access to the tools they need to succeed in their education.

The Back to School – Supplies for Dreams event is not just about providing school supplies to children in need. It also provides an opportunity for stakeholders, corporates bodies, celebrities, and individuals to extend a helping hand to children in street situations. This event creates a sense of community and promotes the importance of education for all children, regardless of their background.

Overall, the Back to School – Supplies for Dreams event is an excellent initiative that not only provides essential school supplies but also promotes education and supports the most vulnerable children in society.

Sharing the joy of Christmas

Sharing the Joy of Christmas is an annual event held in December to give children in street situations the opportunity to have a wonderful Christmas with their families.

Street-connected children live a difficult daily life, often in families torn apart by life events, struggling to find ways to pay for food and school fees.

Despite these very precarious conditions, the children are smiling and have considerable strength to move forward in their future lives.

Sharing is caring

Each year in February we organize a health event to reduce health challenges among our scholarship recipients.

Our team selects the topic depending on the health needs of the children and raises money to cover the costs of surgeries, therapy, medication, and the like.
